Fair Opportunity
Ordering under FAR 16.505(b)
Because SEWP VI is a multiple-award IDIQ vehicle, task and delivery orders are placed in accordance with the Fair Opportunity procedures of FAR Part 16.505(b). Each awardee holding the applicable category is to be given a fair opportunity to be considered for every order over the micro-purchase threshold.
Agencies typically satisfy Fair Opportunity by issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) to eligible SEWP VI contract holders, most efficiently through the SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT), and evaluating responses against the order's requirements.

Exceptions to Fair Opportunity
